Rates & Insurance
Choosing to begin therapy is an investment in your well-being, and it’s completely natural to have questions about cost and insurance. My goal is to be transparent, supportive, and clear so you can make the decision that feels right for you.
Session Fees
My standard fee for an Individual counseling session (up to 45 minutes) is $140.
Payment is due at the time of each session. All major credit & debit cards accepted including FSA and HSA cards.
Sessions are provided via secure telehealth only.
Cost & Accessibility
If you’re interested in counseling but feeling unsure about cost, you’re not alone. These conversations are very common, and you’re always welcome to inquire about a sliding fee prior to your session.
My hope is to create a space where finances can be discussed with honesty and respect — without pressure or judgment.
Insurance
I am an out-of-network provider and do not process claims with insurance companies.
This means:
You will pay the session fee at the time of the session.
I can provide you with a superbill upon request, which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, depending on your plan benefits.
A private-pay model allows for simplicity, flexibility, and increased privacy.
Why I choose not to work directly with insurance
While insurance can be helpful for some, it also comes with limitations.
Working outside of insurance allows me to prioritize:
Your privacy
Insurance companies may require clinical details in order to approve and continue care. Private pay allows therapy to remain more confidential and less medicalized.
Your autonomy
Insurance often dictates:
how many sessions are allowed
what issues qualify for treatment
what treatments are considered “medically necessary”
Private pay allows us to focus on what is actually helpful for you, without third-party involvement.
The quality of our work
Without insurance constraints, sessions can remain:
flexible
client-centered
responsive to your real needs
not rushed or restricted by policies
Benefits of private pay
Many clients appreciate that private pay offers:
greater confidentiality
no treatment limits
no insurance approvals or denials
more freedom in session focus
a collaborative, personalized experience
For many people, this creates a more meaningful and empowering therapeutic process.
